HELEN LEE (李慧敏)

Jing Wushu Academy is founded by HELEN LEE to fulfil her late husband’s wish to expand this Traditional Wu-Style Taichi to more people. She lost her husband of 18 years to cancer in November 2013.

Her late husband HEE KANG NGIAP was an enthusiast in this art and a devoted student of SIFU CHAN LAI WAH. During his living years, he had trained diligently and approached his wife several times, whom was involved in both local Sports Development and Wushu scene, to take on the role of promoting this art. He was called home to be with the Lord in November 2013.

“I have fought the fight. I have finished the Race. I have kept my faith (2 Timothy 4:7).

For death ends a life but not a relationship. Helen hopes his passion in this Taichi would be passed on to every single student that has an affinity with the School.

Helen is the co-founder of another local wushu school (新英武艺 Years 2011-2018) and had worked with the Singapore Sports Council Sports Development as an Assistant Director, overseeing a portfolio of 20 sports, both in Elite and Mass Participation. Competed in different sports, her interest in wushu started in the early years where she learnt different types of martial arts.

She held important roles at a few Major Games Organising Committees, and personally run several local and international wushu competitions. Prior to embarking full time in her sports management career, she has over 12 years of experience in regional business development and client management in MNCs.

Helen holds a Degree in Business Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma In Marketing. She is NCAP Level 2 (National Coaching Accreditation Program) and NSYS (National Standards for Youth-Sports) certified.
